The Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency (NHOA) of the Bluegrass is proud to announce the 21st Decorators’ Showcase to be held at Shady Side, a Greek Revival mansion dating back to 1792. The house sits on more than eight acres four miles east of Lexington on Paris Pike, one of the oldest roads in Kentucky and part of the northernmost link in the Natchez Trace. Shady Side includes seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, a magnificent three-story spiral staircase, enriched in the mid-Victorian Italianate manner, and a majestic Ionic portico.

The Decorators' Showcase will be open to the public September 27 - October 12, and will feature more than 30 interior designers and landscape professionals.  Tours of the house will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.- 4 pm.; Thursday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Meet the designers from 5-7 p.m.), and Sunday: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.  Admission is $15 at the door (and advance tickets will be available at selected outlets to be announced later).

Lunch and a Boutique will also be available at Showcase 2008.

All proceeds from Decorators' Showcase benefit The Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass, Inc., a nonprofit organization.  NHOA provides a trained, certified Ombudsman free of charge to all residents of long-term care facilities in the 17-county Bluegrass area.  Ombudsmen not only serve as advocates for each resident, but they also identify, investigate, and work to resolve complaints made by or on behalf of all residents.
